A THRIVING CAREER

Shalira Taylor is proud to say she is a Clevelander born and raised

– a neighbor, business owner, a conservative, a Christian, community activist and elected official, who has spent her life advocating for the best solution to her community's problems. Born in 1981 at St Luke's Hospital to Cleveland natives and raised on the Eastside of Cleveland, she is the proud daughter of a nurse, Navy serviceman and the wife of a police officer who all value and taught her to love and respect her community. Taylor has been involved with the local, state & federal government providing a voice to officials on behalf of her community for many years. 

 Shalira Taylor was appointed in 2016 and elected to Central Committee in 2020 for the Cuyahoga County Republican Party. Elected by Central Committee as ward leader in 2016. She has managed budgets and teams for the Washington State, Georgia State and Ohio State Republican Party. Through her candidacy, Taylor promises that she will never place political capital, or personal gain above the interests of the people.

 

Taylor, attended Lorain Community Collage where she earned a Phi Theta Kappa Honors award and transferred to Cleveland State University to study business management.

She has been a small business owner since 2012 working with and representing fortune 500 companies like: Anheuser-Busch, Heineken Holding, Miller Brewing Company and MetroPCS/T-Mobile just to name a few. Taylor's involvement in the community extends through her membership in organizations like the Order of The Eastern Stars, Oath Keepers, NAAGA, Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society and The NAACP.

She is also a sitting member of two nonprofit boards: OCEC Foundation- Behavioral & health house in Slavic Village where she is a chair member advocate for (LBGQTI) safe spaces. A chair member of G.R.O.W (Giving Children Resources & Opportunities to be Wealthy) focusing on the: Health, Education and Nourishment of our children's bodies and minds.


Taylor, is a big advocate against voter suppression and participated in voter outreach with the Ohio Secretary of State and Greater Cleveland Food Bank in 2020 during the peak of the pandemic to ensure access to voting for low income and overlooked communities during the 2020 election.
